A sitz bath is used by many who have just had a baby, or have hemorrhoids, to bring relief from soreness, burning, and inflammation.  The herbs we chose for this blend were carefully selected for their traditional application to bring pain relief, reduce swelling, promote the healing of damaged skin, and relaxation.  Please check with your health care provider to ensure this product is right for you.  It is not to be used during pregnancy.

The traditional uses of each ingredient are:

Sea Salt is a natural cleanser that helps speed healing and contains many beneficial minerals.

White oak bark was chosen for its traditional use as a pain reliever and inflammation reducer.

Calendula was chosen for its anti-imflammatory, anitmicrobial, astringent, antiviral, wound healing properties.

Plantain is useful for healing wounds, and reducing inflammation.  It relieves and soothes damaged skin.

Lavender:  Though lavender has many wonderful properties, it is used in this tea primarily because of it's scent.  Lavender is sometimes used to help fight anxiety and depression, and at a time when many women are feeling a little "blue", the scent of lavender could be a little "pick-me-up".  Many find the smell of lavender is relaxing too.

Three methods of use:

• Put one bath tea bag is a sitz bath, let steep for between 20 minutes and overnight, and then soak in your warm or cool bath for 10 to 15 minutes.
• As a compress.  Place the tea bag in a small dish, and pour warm or cool water over it, as per your preference. Squeeze out the excess water, and apply the tea bag to the sore area, or the perineum after childbirth.
• Put one tea bag into a peri bottle, add water and use the tea to clean the area after you use the washroom.

When finished with the bath tea bag, you may squeeze the excess water out and dispose of it with your organic waste.
